Raymond A Aragon, age 55 of Belen, died August 29, 2021. His survivors include daughters Shalene, Arielle ’16 and Monique ’19; and three grandchildren. 

Chad Allen Ashcraft, age 27 of Albuquerque, died July 29, 2021. His survivors include his parents, Molly and David Ashcraft, sister Misty Duffy ’89, brothers Justin Ashcraft ’94 and Adam Ashcraft ’95.

Jonathan Gabriel Baca ’06, age 33, died August 4, 2021. Son of Mary Gueldenzoph and Jacob Baca, Jonathan attended CNM and UNM, writing for both school newspapers.

Michael Edward Brown ’64, age 75 of Albuquerque, died June 30, 2021. He was survived by his wife, Carol ’64; daughter Shawn; sons Greg (Heather) and Danny (Camille); eight grandchildren; brothers, Kevin ’73 (Sue), Marty ’81 (Lisa); and his sister, Joany ’74. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Molly; and his sister, Kathy ’67.

Joseph B. Burwinkle Jr., 86 of Albuquerque, died May 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children Annette Castillo (Mike), Charlie Burwinkle ’78, Pat Burwinkle ’79 (Becky), Dan Burwinkle ’80 (Bertha), Shawn Guerra ’83 (Robert); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Juan Carlos Calog died Aug. 26, 2021. His survivors include granddaughter Monica Penn ’21 and son-in-law James Penn, teacher at St. Pius X High School.

Daniel Emmett Clifford, age 87 of Albuquerque, died July 10, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sons Christopher and Baron ’76. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia; sons Bernard ’74 (Rosella), and Paul ’75, daughter Carol ’79, daughter-in-law Susann, and eight grandchildren. 

Robert H. Darden, age 101 of Lakeville, Conn., died August 15, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Virginia Appleton Darden; son Thomas ’66 (Rebecca); daughters Anne Richardson (Howard Aller) and Margaret Garber (Steven); three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his son David Darden ’64.

Elisa Dawson, age 96 of Albuquerque, died June 1, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray and children Tom ’66 and Martha ’79. Her survivors include her children Albert ’62, Margaret Gore ’65, Mary Kelly ’69, and Patrick ’71; 11 grandchildren including Ali Moore ’03, and eight great-grandchildren.

Philip “Phil” “Coach” Richard Griego, age 60 of Rio Rancho, died August 22, 2021. Griego coached girls’ varsity basketball at St. Pius X High School for 23 years winning three state championships. His survivors include his mother Tarcila (Tafoya) Griego; his wife Rosalie Griego; son Eric Griego (Sandra), daughters Jessica Tafoya ’04 (Michael) and Amy Ratliff ’07 (Anthony); and grandchildren Liana Griego-Ratliff, Ethan Tafoya, Eli Griego and Easton Tafoya.

Patrick Josey ’74, age 64 of Albuquerque, died December 10, 2020. He is survived by his children Caitlin Josey, Brian Josey, and Colin Josey; his former wife Anne Josey; brothers Michael Josey ’77 and John Josey ’78 (Eileen); sisters Suzanne Smith ’75 (Tom), Kathleen Green ’81, and Margaret Parker ’84 (Jason).

Dennis Kelly ’68 died July 28, 2021. His sons are Sean Kelly ‘89 and Daniel Kelly ’91.

George J. Koury, age 90 of Albuquerque, died July 27, 2021. His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ada Lu Koury; daughter, Linda Airy ’72 (Bill); daughter, Carol Lauer ’73 (Rob); daughter, Janet Brooks ’78 (Keith); son, George Koury, Jr ’78 (Terri); 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Leonard Mondel ’74 of Albuquerque died Jan. 21, 2021. His mother Wynona Druess, age 93 of Albuquerque, died Aug. 17. 2020. 

Christina Maria Riker, age 64 of Albuquerque, died July 12, 2021. Her survivors include her daughter, Amy Martinez ’12 (Benjamin); her son, James Paul Riker ’12.
