Homecoming Royalty Chosen
St. Pius X High School selected King Elijah Barela and Queen Carmen Brandt as its 2021 Homecoming Royalty! Also titled in the High Court were First Prince Dominic Esparza, First Princess Samantha Fresquez, Second Prince Ethan Crabtree and Second Princess Gabriella Mantelli. The entire court included Emily Randall, Ariana Rivera, Isabel Roddy, Katherine Smith, Carson Funchess, Zachary Torres, Damian Vigil and Marco Ybarra.
The Homecoming football game featured a match up between the Sartans and the Aztec Tigers on Sept. 25 at 1 pm. The Sartans won 27-24.
Feast of St. Pius X
St. Pius X High School honored its patron saint, St. Pius X, by returning to the first all-school Mass celebrated since January 2020. For more than half of the student body, this was their first ever SPX Mass! New teachers, as well as 5, 10 and 15-year veterans were honored at the Mass. Notably, teachers Kevin Hillsey and James Penn were cheered as they marked their 30th year of service to St. Pius X. Our fall sports athletes were also blessed as they began their seasons.

Akira, the St. Pius X Literary Magazine, published its 2021 issue last spring.
Editors for 2020-2021 were Isabella Clarke, Rose Vigil, Cierra Sandoval, Onyinye Anozie and Erica Olguin.
Staff members included Aidan DuBois, Ava Armijo, Nicholas Hanson, James Lovato, Jackie Beckett, Jacob Moehn, Joey Gonzales and Gracie Cooper. The moderator was Ms. Hillsey.
SPX Cheer Crushes Cheer Camp
St. Pius X Cheer took first in all 3 divisions at UCA Camp AND got the leadership award. Individually, Issabella Strickland, Teresa Apodaca, and Samantha Fresquez made the All-American Team and Sofia Gallegos won the Pin It Forward Award. See them in action here.
