SPX Sports – Winter 2021
Fall athletes earned five district championships for SPX in 2021. They completed for state titles in multiple sports with many earning individual All-State and All-District honors.

SPX Presents Alice in Wonderland
St. Pius X Theater presented Alice in Wonderland this fall. Members of the cast and crew include seniors Isabella Apodaca, Sela Boswell, Madrid Castillo, Roni Braun, Ella Hooks, Raphael Lente, Susanna Lanucara and Sandy López; juniors Colette Correa-Bruzzese, Elizabeth Nuñez and Bethany Padilla; sophomores Olivia Boatman, Joshua Brown, Jaden Notah-Johnson, Arianna Archibeque-Loretto, Savannah Paul, Alexandra Solin and Juliana Wardroup-Sanchez; and freshmen Serafina Apodaca, Elias Braun, Adrianna Salas and Angelina Sanchez.
Choir Honors Stack Up
St. Pius X Choir students were selected to sing in the 2022 NMMEA All-State Choirs. They are Emma McGonigle, Meghan Stone, Gabriella Mantelli, Elicia Rowe, Isabela Sena and Elijah Barela.
The SPX Senior Quartet were selected to sing the National Anthem at men’s and women’s University of New Mexico basketball games this season. Congratulations to Elijah Barela, Gabriella Mantelli, Elicia Rowe and Noah Eldredge. Click here to see the video.
Sartan Musicians Earn State Honors
Selected to play in the 2022 NMMEA All-State ensembles are Leo Kim, Symphonic Band Clarinet; Olivia Boatman, Symphonic Band Percussion; and Brendan Tierney, Concert Band Clarinet.
Named to the All-State Orchestra are Tashina Parker, harp; Ronan Braun, Piano; and Carmen Brandt, Francis Ochs and Sara Swinson, violin.
Selected to the District VII Honor Band are Angelina Blackledge, Leo Kim, Brenden Tierney and Olivia Boatman.
